Area Of Interest
Dr. Scowley, who has practiced family medicine in Richmond since 1985, has special interest in treating lacerations, minor fractures and skin lesions, as well as performing procedures to diagnose and treat problems of the upper and lower GI.

When not practicing medicine, Dr. Scowley likes to spend time with his wife and children. His hobbies include deer and pheasant hunting, fishing and reading books.
Teaching or Professional Positions
Dr. Scowley currently serves as a Ray County Hospital board member. He has previously served his community as a Ray County Ambulance board member, twice as a Richmond school board member and as Ray County coroner.
He also is a University of Missouri-Kansas City preceptor, training fifth-year medical students in rural family medicine.
Honors, Awards, etc.
A Vietnam veteran, Dr. Scowley served in the U.S. Air Force from 1968-1972. He was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal.
