Caring for You During Your Hospital Stay
Your primary care physician (PCP) serves as your advocate and guide throughout your health care journey. If necessary, your PCP can admit you to North Kansas City Hospital and will treat you during your stay, which means you’ll receive care in the hospital from a doctor you already know and trust.
You’ll also appreciate our approach to coordinating efforts with other health professionals involved in your care. That continuity helps you manage challenging medical issues and achieve the best possible outcome.
Internist - Specialists in Adult Diseases
Internists specialize in helping adults and seniors prevent disease and stay well. From treatment of common health problems to diagnosis of complex conditions and treatment of severe chronic illnesses, internists apply their scientific knowledge and clinical expertise to help you understand disease prevention and support you in living a healthy life.
If you’re an adult with a chronic medical condition, turn to an internal medicine physician at Meritas Health Creekwood. You’ll get access to testing, treatment and the personalized guidance you need to stay as healthy as possible while living with diabetes, asthma, high cholesterol, heart disease or other health conditions.
To make the most of your appointment with an internist or geriatric medicine specialist:
- Arrive 30 minutes before your first visit and 15 minutes before all subsequent appointments so we can collect, verify or update your information.
- Bring your insurance card and money for copays or co-insurance. (See what insurance providers we accept.)
- Bring a current, complete list of your medications.
To save time during your visit to our internal medicine and geriatric medicine office, print and fill out any necessary patient forms at home and bring them to your appointment.
Tell your doctor during your appointment if you’ll need prescription refills before your next visit. To request a refill between appointments, call your pharmacy or mail-order service.
